Massage helps enable the horse to perform to the best of its ability. Tension is one of the most common reasons for poor performance in all disciplines & massage helps by promotion relaxation & increasing back flexibility. Massage also helps reduce stiffness caused by injury, chronic conditions, or strenuous work. It does this by improving the blood supply to the muscles. It also enhances relaxation, reducing heart rate throughout the massage.
Equilibrium can be used at home between visits from equine professionals to help keep your horse supple .
Equilibrium can be particularly effective in treating older horses or those rehabilitating from injury.
Clinical trials were conducted on the Equilibrium Massage Pad by Myerscough College in the UK , on competition horses. The results after 6 weeks demonstrated significant improvement in back flexibility & relaxation in the treated horses compared with a control group of horses.
